Create a Facebook Fundraiser this #GivingTuesday

This #GivingTuesday, Facebook is waiving all fees associated with fundraisers while the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation matches up to $2 million in donations. You can support GlobalJax this holiday season by starting your own Facebook fundraiser in support of GlobalJax. Here is how:

1. Login into your personal Facebook page.

2. Click on HOME.

3. In the column on the left, find the word, FUNDRAISERS and click.

4. Then click the RAISE MONEY button.

5. Choose to ‘Raise Money for a Nonprofit’ and type “GlobalJax”.

6. Set a goal… can you raise $250? $500? $1000?

7. Choose the end date of November 28 (remember, only gifts made early in the day on #GivingTuesday will be matched).

8. Choose a title, something like, “Build a Better World” or “Join me in Support of GlobalJax”

9. Write your own GlobalJax story or copy and paste the text below:

This #GivingTuesday, starting at 8:00 am, I'm raising money for GlobalJax.

GlobalJax is connecting community leaders in over 180 countries on projects designed to Strengthen Democracy and Human Rights, Improve Healthcare, Expand Access to Education, Grow Trade, Activate the Volunteer Sector, and Improve International Security. Each year thousands of volunteers get connected and welcome the world to Northeast Florida.

This #GivingTuesday, every little bit helps. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation are matching YOUR GIFT to GlobalJax starting at 8 am and ending whenever their $2 million pledge is used up… so the earlier in the day you give, the better.

After 10 years in Public Diplomacy, this cause means a lot to me and my family, and I believe that by connecting with community leaders around the world, we can make a difference in the lives of millions. Give here or start your own GlobalJax fundraiser!

1. Chose a cover photo. You can use the photo above, use one of Facebook’s or use your own GlobalJax photo.

2. Click on the blue CREATE button (it might take a moment for the photo to load, don’t get discouraged).

3. You should see a CONGRATULATIONS, your fundraiser has been created window.

4. Next invite all your friends to participate. As a rule of thumb, personal notes work the best.

5. Visit the GlobalJax Facebook page to find images and videos that can be shared along with your fundraiser. Adding content regularly is the best way to draw attention to your fundraiser.

6. Go ahead and renew your membership by making a donation to GlobalJax tomorrow via Facebook. Everyone who gives a membership amount (Individual $60, Family $108 and Patrons $250) will be automatically renewed.

7. Remember, your gifts are tax-deductible and support a unique and important organization.
