BREXIT: How it Happened and What it Means for North Florida


On July 20, 2016, much of the world was surprised with the final results of the U.K. referendum on European Union membership. By a narrow margin, the United Kingdom voted to leave the E.U.

According to various news outlets, the English pound hit a 31-year low and stock markets reacted to the new uncertainty in a way that left most wondering about the long-term consequences to financial markets, trade and immigration.

To get some additional insight into how it happened and what it could mean for local companies doing business abroad, some of our members sat down with local radio host and Englishman, Arthur Crofton, and International Director for the Jax Chamber, Mike Breen for conversation and beer.
