In the fourteenth most populated city in America, World Relief and partner Christina churches are bringing new hope to refugee families. Many refugees arrive in Florida with nothing more than the clothes they are wearing when they step off the plane. They face the daunting prospect of rebuilding their broken lives in a 'strange' new land where they know no one. World Relief and partners welcome new arrivals and make them feel at home in Jacksonville. We provide vital assistance during the 'early days' after a family's arrival - helping them find accommodation, employment and adjust to American life.

WJCT Public TV and Radio

WJCT broadcasts five distinct digital TV channels and three HD radio streams, in addition to its analog broadcasts. WJCT added its first news director in 2000, and developed a radio news department to enhance its delivery of in-depth news and information. The station also expanded and enhanced its Web site, and began audio streaming in July 2003. WJCT continued to build upon the trends established in previous decades, launching new community outreach initiatives like Speaking of Women’s Health, Share a Story, and the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive, and new public affairs programs like First Coast Forum and Week in Review.
