Last week when the Vice President of China, Xi Jingping took a trip to Muscatine, Iowa, it was big news in the world of Citizen Diplomats. Indeed, no recent story, except maybe that of IVLP alumnus Ms. Tawakul Karman of Yemen winning The Nobel Peace Prize, so aptly demonstrated the importance of the long term investment of citizen diplomacy through welcoming strangers into our homes and offices.

Global Tuesday Social Draws Big Crowd, Great Conversation
Once again, we are excited to report the monthly GlobalJax Social had over 90 in attendance. Nearly 70 current and future GlobalJax members enjoyed personal conversation with 18 emerging leaders from all around the world. Topics included the development of government structures in the newly formed Republic of South Sudan, revolution and hope in Egypt, tourism in Israel, the recent exit of American troops from Iraq, government structures in Asia and much more.
