Thoughts For International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is a big deal in a lot of countries. There will be parades and women will be showered with flowers and chocolates in a Mother’s Day meets Valentine’s Day sort of way. But women around the world will also gather, much like this, to celebrate each other and their invaluable contributions to their communities and to make plans for continuing their struggles for equality and freedom.

CHANGE OF STAFF

It was a sad day when Madeline Belvin, our formidable program director, decided to take a job in DC just weeks after our past Executive Director, Sondie Frus, officially retired. I was sure we would never be able to fill their shoes, and though that has been true to a certain extent, we have a lot of great help here in the office this semester. Today I’d like to feature Scott Johnson who is currently working as our Visitor Program Assistant.
